The Park Day
Jennifer has a red ball. It is his best friend. Every day, Jennifer takes his ball to the park. He throws it high in the sky. The ball comes back to him. Jennifer smiles.
One day, Jennifer meets a girl at the park. Her name is Anna. She has no toys to play with. She looks sad.
“Do you want to play?” Jennifer asks.
Anna nods. Jennifer shares his ball with her. They throw it back and forth. They laugh and run.
The Lost Ball
After playing, Jennifer cannot find his ball. It is not in his bag. It is not on the grass. Jennifer feels tears in his eyes.
“Where is my ball?” he asks.
Anna helps Jennifer look for the ball. They look under trees. They look behind benches. No ball.
The Happy End
As the sun starts to go down, Anna sees something red in a bush. “Look!” she says.
Jennifer runs to the bush. It is his ball! He jumps with joy.
“Thank you, Anna,” Jennifer says. “You are a good friend.”
“You are a good friend too,” Anna says. “Can we play again tomorrow?”
Jennifer nods. Now he has two friends – his ball and Anna.
